Held takes place September 20, 21 & 22nd, 2019 in Hocking Hills, Ohio.
This two night retreat is a celebration: of quiet, of introspection, of our personal relationship with self, and nature, a fond farewell to the summer months and a greeting of the autumn ahead.
A chance to listen: to the secrets the woods, the wisdom of a sky full of stars, and to ourselves - the deepest part of us - so often unheard.
To leisure: to flow into time unscheduled, uncommitted, to wander, wonder. To explore, play, and rest with our own rhythms.
To let go: to acknowledge and shed burden, baggage, and conditioning that we carry, giving time to discern what is worth holding on to.

Is this retreat silent?
Parts of it, yes, but we’ll keep it in line with our previous retreat offerings - (almost) silent. There is an emphasis on respecting the individual experience and our deep need for quietude but there is something so special about sharing these experiences with others. We wish to offer space that reduces the feelings of too much or not enough - fostering a deeper connection with self and others without chatter. A chance to learn, recognize, and practice the art of listening and reflection. We’ll also offer specific times, areas and experiences for conversation, circling and sharing. All activities and offerings are of course optional.
Where will we stay?
After a lot of thought and research, we’ve found a private lodge in Hocking Hills situated on 14 acres with hiking trails and surrounded by forest. There are 8 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, wrap around porches, a spring fed lake (swimming and floating encouraged), hot tub, and ample common space. Both shared and private rooms are available.
A separate, small building known as “The Treehouse” offers additional accommodations. This building does not have a bathroom or running water, but is in close proximity of the main house.
How do we get there?
The lodge is located in Rockbridge, Ohio. It’s a 3 hour drive from Cleveland, or 1 hour from the Columbus airport (CMH). The exact address will be sent to you after booking.
CMH offers non-stop flights from over 40 airports including NYC, Boston, Atlanta, LA, Seattle and Toronto.
How many people will be there?
Our focus is on intimate, small group experiences and we’re expecting between 12-16 people joining us.
When do we arrive and depart?
Plan on arriving Friday evening around 6pm. We’ll depart on Sunday at 11am.
What makes us trustworthy facilitators?
We are deeply invested in this holistic work and passionately share our offerings. Equally as important, we know how to curate meaningful experiences and provide a welcoming, hospitable environment. Gwendolyn has spent over a decade in the event industry: designing, planning and executing complex events around the country and Stacey has been a private chef, run restaurant and cafe kitchens, and spent ample time working and learning at retreat centers in Hawaii and Colorado. Collaborating since 2017, they have led multiple workshops, sound baths, and day retreats together while continuing to nurture their personal and professional growth as loving humans, thoughtful space holders and powerful healers.
