Restorative Yoga is an act of intentional stillness and subtle openings. An aid for stiffness, anxiety, tension, busyness and insomnia it is also a practice of abiding that, integrated into our lives, can teach us about patience, observance and the profound effects of response versus reaction. A passive yoga experience, Restorative Yoga aims to nurture the parasympathetic nervous system by allowing space for relaxation and rest.
A reminder, to work slowly through the gray area of your life. To be patient and gentle with yourself.
You are still becoming.
Using support such as bolsters, blankets, blocks and sandbags, Restorative Yoga is all about held space. Space held for you to integrate and process your experiences. Space to greet yourself fully. Suited for everyone, (especially those who don't realize it) the grounding art of the practice is achieved by offering gentle yet palpable sensations of comforting what is tender and cracking open what is stuck.
A truly special cultivation of the spaciousness of deliberate rest.

announcing a training for teachers
Led around the concept of a caesura, or poetic pause, this Restorative Yoga training will put you in touch with the art of holding space, the beauty of rest, the support we can offer our students and the ways in which we can honor their experience. This 28 hour training includes a Reiki I attunement (in the Usui Holy Fire lineage) and 6 hours of mentorship. Limited to six spaces, we approach these lessons on a personal level to make the most of our time together.
