Community Rest

This event happened in the past, but you can view the recording here.

Welcome to Community Rest

Community Rest is designed to be an accessible practice. Rest is for everyone, and anyone with a private, safe space and an internet connection can join. If you register after 12:10pm ET the day of our gathering you will receive the recording.

Contributions are appreciated but not necessary in order to access this offering. Please note that this “pay what you wish” model is different than sliding scale to encourage exploration into the realms of rest. Offerings may be applied above, or sent via Venmo (@gwendolynren) or Paypal (paypal.me/gwendolynren). Thank you for your support!

Rest informs healthy action. Sustainable action. Clear, meaningful action. And our action requires our Rest.

An aid for stiffness, anxiety, tension, busyness, and insomnia, it is also a practice of abiding that, integrated into our lives, can teach us about patience, compassion, the profound effects of response versus reaction, and ourselves.

There are times of course that we can’t lie down and close our eyes (even if we really want to) but sometimes we deny ourselves the opportunity, even when it’s there. In claiming space for Rest we open up a portal of spaciousness - where we can vision, dream, recalibrate, get inspired, and untangle. Soothe the raw edges of our overwork, overwhelm, or exhaustion. This is soul work, heart work, but also very human work - promoting emotional intelligence, sustainability, the fuel for both individual and community care.

What:

Community Rest is a guided 30 minute practice over Zoom (20 minutes of practice with some buffer time on each end). Cameras are optional. A recording will be available for 7 days if you can’t make it live.

Why:

Without held time and space, intention and commitment, Rest like this is often overlooked. Too hard to prioritize, too easy to become distracted. Yes, you can do this practice on your own whenever you need it (Yes! Do it!), but coming together in community is powerful and worth experiencing.

How:

You only need yourself and a private space. Your willingness to be there. If available, I recommend having something to cover your eyes and I’ll send suggestions on ways to get comfortable, if you happen to have blankets and pillows available to you.

What Next?

You’ll receive an email prior to our session with some suggestions and our zoom code. You can reach out with questions at anytime.
